Fixing a $10,000 Flooring Disaster
The only company willing to fix a failed installation — rebuilt properly, warranty protected, no extra labor charges.
Customer:
Texas Homeowner - Little Elm, TX
Project:
Full flooring replacement + repair of failed installation
Challenge:
Previous contractor installed flooring incorrectly
The problem
The homeowner originally hired another flooring company that improperly installed the floors, leading to major structural issues:
• Floors were not properly locked
• No moisture barrier installed
• Subfloor not leveled
• Stairs coming apart within one week
• Manufacturer warranty voided
Within days it became clear the installation was beyond repair.
The homeowner had already lost $10,000 and needed a contractor willing to undo the damage and install the flooring correctly.
Many companies refused the job.
The solution
Next Day Flooring stepped in to fix the failed installation and complete the project properly.
Our team:
• Removed the improperly installed flooring
• Re-prepared the subfloor and properly leveled it
• Installed the correct moisture barrier
• Installed upgraded flooring with proper locking systems
• Rebuilt failing stair installations
• Completed the project without charging additional labor for fixing the prior mistakes
The team also worked on a tight timeline so the homeowner could finally move into their home.
The result
The homeowner now has beautiful, properly installed floors that will last for years and maintain their manufacturer warranty.
The customer also gained peace of mind knowing the job was done correctly.

“My floors look amazing! Next Day Flooring is honest, reliable, fast, provides quality work and they were the *only* company willing to help me when another contractor messed up my floors. If you are shopping around — please read this review! There are things you should know that will help you make an educated decision (and save you a costly mistake). I hired another company to do my floors initially. The other company seemed reputable and said all the right things, but it turned out to be a nightmare. The work was so poorly done — improperly installed and unfortunately, I had to pay to have the floors completely redone. When I was trying to find help to fix the poorly installed work, Next Day was the only company that was willing to come and help me with repairs. During repairs it was discovered that the other job was so poorly done that the warranty on the materials would be void. The floors had not been properly locked, nor were they waterproof (which would have meant mold issues within 6 months). The other company had also not leveled the floor which means separation as things settle. The stairs were actually coming apart within a week of the other install. The worst part of all of this is that my situation is NOT unique and dishonest contractors can really take advantage of consumers. Next Day Flooring was a God-send. They had so much compassion for me and my situation and the whole team rallied to make the experience great. They went above and beyond by upgrading my floor and also not charging for the extra labor needed to undo the poor work. They worked quickly, efficiently, and communication was fantastic. They made sure to meet the deadline so that I could finally move in to my new home after the delays caused by the prior issues. Their help in such a challenging situation meant so much to me — they truly cared about me as a customer and making sure that the job was done right. I highly recommend Next Day Flooring — don’t make the same mistake I did. A few things to look for — • Price lock guarantee. Next Day will give you a set quote and will not increase that, no matter what other issues arise. Many companies/contractors will add up-charge to the job once it is underway. • Ask about warranty including manufacturer AND installation. • Make sure the product being used is high quality. Some contractors will get cheap products at local stores. Next Day has suppliers they work with to get the best quality and it definitely matters. • Ensure the floor is properly leveled and that there is a waterproof moisture barrier is a must too. Some companies will cut corners on this (and other things too). I wish I didn’t learn all of this the hard way, but I hope I can save someone else from the same issues. This is a long review, but I lost about $10K as a result of hiring the wrong company. I hope this helps someone else to avoid that same mistake. Thank you Next Day for such a great experience with you! I am in love with the floors. They look amazing and I have such peace of mind knowing that they are properly installed and will last!”
